Sardina Systems at the UK Cloud Infrastructure User Group London
We are going to speak at the UK Cloud Infrastructure User Group in London this week.
Please join the July 2019 Meetup event to hear about a great topic session: “Cloud Health != Cloud Monitoring”. How do you maintain your enterprise cloud health?
What is the agenda?
18:30 – 19:00: Food, drinks & icebreaker conversations
19:00 – 19:15: Welcome, Community, Events & News update
19:15 – 20:30: Kenneth Tan: Cloud Health != Cloud Monitoring
20:30 – 21:00: Q&A
Maintaining enterprise cloud health is a key challenge in ensuring user trust in organizations. However, using traditional enterprise monitoring tools may not be enough. Traditional enterprise monitoring is looking for alive/dead states which would thus only allow you, as an Operator, to take action after the fact. Sure, operators can define thresholds as “dead” states, to trigger alerts. But if we apply similar schemes to the actual health of human beings, for example, defining sneezing as a “dead” state, we would end up with lots of sneezing people 6 ft underground.
How can we deal with this? How can we actually deal with cloud system health, not simply alive/dead states only? Would it make a difference to help the operator to prevent critical problems from happening?
