Dr. Kenneth Tan, Sardina’s CEO, performed the Bioinformatics Cloud project at the Austrian-Slovenian HPC meeting. The presentation named “Bioinformatics Cloud: scalable, flexible and secure” was provided on the 2nd of June.
The ASHPC21 is an annual high-performance computing event that focuses on recent trends and challenges in efficient HPC applications. The event audience includes many representatives of science, education, research, and business spheres.
The Austrian-Slovenian meeting provides an excellent opportunity to foster the exchange of knowledge and ideas and promotes fruitful collaboration to enhance sustainable HPC development. The participants discussed different aspects of actual HPC topics, and Sardina Systems shared the experience in practical project implementation with the audience.
The Bioinformatics Cloud managed by FishOS helps scientists and researchers successfully operate the big data in de.NBI, a national scale project supported by the German government. The de.NBI’s multiple systems combine FishOS, OpenStack, and Ceph to provide a scalable, flexible, and ultra-reliable platform for traditional research and next-gen applications, with data security and protection.
“Private data should stay private”, – resumed Dr. Tan explaining the high-security level that FishOS guarantees to the Bioinformatics private cloud environment.
